Beeball is a non-competitive modified t-ball field designed to give 4-5 year olds a fun and engaging way to throw, catch and hit. All 45 minute games are played at Col Sutton Reserve on Saturday mornings.
Players in U8’s are hitting off a tee to play T-ball. Players in this group are learning the fundamental elements to playing baseball with coaches actively assisting on and off the field of play. U8 age teams play beginning in mid-October through to the end of March.
All games are played on Saturday mornings generally starting at 8.30 or 10.30 against local Hills district teams for 1½ hours.
Grading Days allow for coaches to assess the skills of players in throwing, catching and batting. Players are encouraged to attend so they can be placed onto teams with similar abilities.
Grading Days are typically held in July/August before the summer baseball begins in mid-September.
Modball is the next progression before Live ball. In Modball, players are no longer using a tee to hit the ball. Coaches in Modball continue to develop players understanding of the game, but now gently pitch balls to players. In a competitive environment, players are increasingly challenging their eye-hand coordination and their understanding of baseball .

Live ball is essentially baseball with modifications to rules and dimensions. In Live ball players are now pitching to opposing teams with coaches only assisting from a distance. Players should go through the grading process to ensure they are playing on teams with similar or like abilities and skills. Should players demonstrate they have a higher degree of skill and ability, they can be placed on an U13’s team after consultation with the grading committee and team coach.

In this natural progression of baseball, rules are modified and dimensions are more in line with Little League. Players should go through the grading process to ensure they are playing on teams with similar or like abilities and skills.

Winston Hills Baseball Club isn’t just for juniors. Seniors teams are made of men and women who wish to continue their passion for the game of baseball. Winston Hills has a tradition of placing competitively fun teams in both local senior baseball competitions. Sydney Metro Baseball League and Pacific Coast Baseball League.
Generally summer competitions go from September to March. Winter competitions go from March to August. Teams are comprised of players from all over the world with varying abilities and skills that compete in the highly competitive Division 1 down to Div 10.
There are opportunities for 15 – 17 year old players to play on seniors teams, however it is recommended to first have experience playing at a juniors level first and discuss options with the club.
As baseball continues to grow in popularity, there are growing generations of families moving up the junior competitions who want to continue playing baseball in the senior competitions. We have had a number of father/sons or daughters on the same team in recent years. Registrations typically occur in July/August for summer competitions and February/March for winter competitions.
